SSC CGL 2018 Updates: Selection Process, Job Profile, Vacancies, Admit Card & Result


SSC Exam Details

SSC notification will be out on 5th May 2018, which was earlier to be released on 21st April 2018. The official notice regarding new release date of the notification was uploaded by SSC on the official site. So if you are giving SSC CGL 2018 exam, find here the selection procedure, job profile, vacancies, admit card and result date.


SSC CGL Selection Process

SSC CGL is conducted in four tiers as indicated below:

Tier- I: Online Examination (Multiple choice type questions)

Tier- II: Online Examination (Multiple choice type questions)

Tier- III: Descriptive paper in Hindi/English (Writing Essay/Letter/Precise/Application Writing)

Tier-IV: Computer Proficiency Test/ Skill Test (Wherever Applicable) / Document Verification

After clearing the Tier I exam, you can give Tier II & Tier III. Answer sheet of Tier III will be evaluated for those candidates who will qualify Tier II Cut-off. Tier IV exam is applicable to some specific posts only.

The final result is declared after all the Tiers. Final merit list is prepared by considering marks of the entire Tier (I, II, III). If you do not clear Tier IV then you will be eligible for those posts which do not need the typing skills.

Responsible work, a lot to learn and understand about Indian diplomacy and how nations take up matters


Inspector of Income Tax (CBDT)

Evaluating, documenting, processing IT records

Assistant (Other Ministries)

File work

Inspector (Central Excise) CBEC

Inspect, verify, procedure and maintain the taxes/ returns filed by companies

Inspector of Income Tax (CBDT)

Evaluating, documenting, processing IT records

Inspector (Preventive Officer) CBEC

Documentation and inspecting imported and exported goods

Inspector (Examiner) CBEC

Checking and verifying whether taxes are paid correctly

Junior Statistical Officer (Statistics)

Data Compilation, Data Processing, Data Collection

The admit card for Tier I exam of SSC CGL 2018 will available on the website in the first week of July 2018. Candidates will be able to get the admit card from the official website of SSC.
